We’re so excited to welcome everyone to the Father Bill Atkinson Pilgrimage on Thursday, September 29! Rain or shine, we’re looking forward to a day filled with fellowship, prayer and fun.

Pilgrimage Schedule and Locations:

The 4-mile walk will start at St. Thomas of Villanova Church and end at Our Lady of Assumption (OLA).

  • 3:30 PM Registration at St. Thomas of Villanova Church

  • 3:45 PM Opening Prayer Service with Father Rob Hagan in St. Thomas of Villanova Church

  • 4:00 PM Pilgrimage begins! See the map of the walk, including addresses, below. Click here or the image at the bottom to enlarge it.

  • 5:30 PM Last Mile Prayer at Friends of Radnor Trail Park*

  • 6:00 PM Estimated Arrival at Our Lady of Assumption

  • 6:15 PM Closing Prayer Service with Father Gerry Carey at OLA

  • 6:30 PM Food and Fellowship at OLA

*If you signed up to join us at the last mile, we will be sending you a separate email with additional information.

FAQs:

Parking at Villanova: Pilgrims can park in the L2 and L3 lots, then walk over the bridge to head to the church. If you have an ADA hangtag/plate, you may park in the church lot accessible off Spring Mill Road. Please note, if you park in the I-1 garage, you will have to pay to exit. Please see this map for parking locations.

  • Transportation back to Villanova: After the Pilgrimage, if you need a ride from OLA back to Villanova, please fill out this survey. We will have vans available, just are trying to get a headcount - thank you!

  • Intentions: Please bring your prayers to the Pilgrimage; we will have sheets of paper available for writing intentions that our Service Corps members will carry with us as we walk.

  • T-Shirts: If you ordered a t-shirt, it will be ready for you at registration.

  • Bathrooms: Public facilities will be available at St. Thomas, OLA, and Friends of Radnor Trail Park. There are also porta-potties along Radnor-Chester Trail.

  • Walk Safety: There will be walk leaders on the Pilgrimage to help wherever needed. If you are having trouble during the walk, a leader will assist you and obtain a ride for you if needed. There will also be Radnor police to escort the pilgrims during the walk.

  • Water: There will be water bottles at registration, the last mile and at the end of the Pilgrimage.

  • Food: We will have pizza, fruit, cookies, water and soft drinks for pilgrims at OLA after the pilgrimage.

  • The Pilgrimage will take place rain or shine.
